Nectar Village aims to be a village that is dedicated to providing personally oriented services (gifts) to all of Black Rock City. Our leadership and member camps have a deep history in providing deeply interactive camps. The Heebeegeebee Healers have a classroom that drew over 8,000 BRC
citizens last year and a healing space that performed over 900
one-on-one healing sessions in 2010. The Steambath Project has a
Finnish steambath running almost 24/7. Bumblepuss is the organizing
camp of Nectar Village and is providing many infrastructure related
services, as well as working in the HBGB healing space. Contact Camp provdes daily contact improvisational dance activities in its domes. And, Snow Kone Solar brings the largest solar array to the playa each year, providing over 27kW of power to the Nectar Village. They also provide an electric vehicle recharging station and snow kones each afternoon. All of our camps have highly interactive activities. From HBGB’s classroom sessions that run 8am-10pm (including Yoga, energy healing, deeksha, meditation, massage, Monkey Chant) and HBGB’s 1-on-1 sessions with body and energy workers, to SKS's electric vehicle charging, there is the Steambath project that will accommodate 10 individuals at a time for a Finnish Steambath. Bumblepuss offers performance art and crazy antics- including the annual goat slapping ritual. And, the art of the village is provided by Karen Cusolito. The village is a day-time oriented village. We will have activities starting daily at 8am. Scheduled activities will run through about 10pm. We expect to have over 50 entries in the What, Where, When, based on a review of prior years. The fire art will likely run from dark until midnight or 1am. While the fire art will draw a crowd and have some music, it is not intended to be a big party, and we wish to respect the rest needs of our campers, most of which will spend 4-6 hours everyday, working the interactive parts of the village. |
